Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS)

International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an international standard-setting organization that established the Project Committee ISO (PC 278) in 2013. The Committee, comprising of experts from more than 50 countries as well as international organizations including Malaysia, collaborated to develop the ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Management System. The Project Committee ISO (PC 278) organized a series of meetings in Spain (Madrid), France (Paris), USA (Miami), Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) and Mexico from June 2013 to June 2016. On October 2016, the ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System (ISO 37001) was launched.

On December 2016, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) made an application to the Department of Standards Malaysia to adopt the ISO 37001 in Malaysia. On October 2017, the MS ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System (MS ISO 37001) was launched.

ISO 37001/ MS ISO 37001 is a voluntary internal control system for organizations to manage, handle, enforce, evaluate as well as to improve anti-corruption measures effectively. It is a flexible instrument that can be adapted to decrease the corruption risks faced by any organizations.

The Standard is designed to assist organizations in showing stakeholders that they have adequate implementation of anti-corruption measures and initiatives in place.
